Glossary

Behavior Any activity the learner will be expected to exhibit after instruction. The activity should be observable and measurable. It is the primary component of a objective.
Condition The component of objective that describes the situation/environment in which the learner must exhibit the specified behavior.
Front-End Analysis See Needs Assessment
Instructional Goals Clear statements of behavior that learners are to demonstrate as a result of instruction.
Needs Assessment Problem identification process that looks at the difference between "what is" and "what should be" for a particular situation.
Skill An ability to perform an action or group of actions.
Target population (audience) The total collection of users of a given instructional program.
